Himmelman Construction Awarded to perform the Construction of the Lotus School for Excellence Ground-up Facility to Serve K-8
LAKEWOOD, CO — Himmelman Construction is excited to share that it has been awarded the upcoming ground-up project for the Lotus School for Excellence. Construction is scheduled to begin this fall.
The project involves the construction of a new, two-story, stand-alone building totaling 30,100 square feet. This building will expand the existing Lotus School for Excellence campus, providing modern facilities and enhanced space for students and staff.
Himmelman Construction has previously collaborated with both Lotus School for Excellence and Adragna Architecture and Development on other projects. This long-standing relationship makes the new project particularly meaningful for the Himmelman team.
Before bidding on the project, Colton Himmelman collaborated closely with the team during the preconstruction planning phase. Reflecting on the experience, he shared the following:
“It has been my pleasure to partner and continue our long-standing relationship with Lotus School for Excellence and Adragna Architecture. Working closely with Blueprint Colorado, Ryan Adragna, and his team of sub-consultants allowed us to save over 20% in building costs. I couldn’t be more excited to see our hard work come to life in a tangible building that will support and uplift the school and its local community.” –Colton Himmelman
Executive Director Mehmet Nalcaci emphasized the significance of the project, stating:
“This expansion is a transformative milestone for Lotus School for Excellence. The new facility will allow us to welcome over 400 additional students and extend our grade offerings from K–12 to PreK–12. This growth means more families will have access to a high-quality, college-preparatory education in a safe and supportive environment.
