Robert’s interest in construction began early, learning from his grandfather, a pipefitter who built power plants across the Central United States. Growing up, Robert was involved in various construction projects at his grandfather’s home, where he learned the importance of getting things right. This inspired him to pursue construction as a profession, leading him to Colorado State University’s Construction Management Program. His first job out of college was in estimating, and he’s remained in this discipline ever since. Over the years, Robert has seen firsthand how technology has revolutionized the industry, moving from paper-based calculations to advanced computer software—simplifying the process and offering exciting possibilities for the future.
Fun Fact
During college, Robert worked for a contractor who built the golf course above Telluride. For two summers, he lived in a tent or a trailer by the river, renting the trailer from a man named Bob, whose family had once guided Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid through the mountains of Durango, Telluride, Ouray, and New Mexico.
Outside of work
Robert enjoys all the outdoor experiences the state has to offer. He’s passionate about hunting big and small game, fly fishing, skiing (when his body allows it), hiking, camping, and four-wheeling. Every year, he makes it a point to discover a new place in Colorado.
