A Tribute, Farewell Dear Friend…

Losing a coworker can be especially painful when you knew each other well and felt like family. The passing of John
Hyre, an integral part of Himmelman for over two decades and who possessed a dedication and work ethic that was
unparalleled, has left a sadness that has permeated the office and our hearts. We take this time to celebrate the life
of our coworker and friend and we all will take time to recall and share stories with each other of how John made a
difference in our lives and the lives of so many others.
While we mourn the loss of a colleague, we pay tribute and celebrate a life that was well lived. Death has taken away
a genuinely warm and modest individual who was also a dedicated and valued employee, a true gentleman, and a
friend to us all.
He faced a challenge to his life by way of a grave illness, with great courage. Many others in his circumstance would
have given up but John fought until the very end. His determination to carry on despite trying personal circumstances
demonstrated his commitment to family and living a life to the fullest until it was time for him to leave us. In his own
quiet and calm manner, he showed how to work through challenging times and to carry everyone along in such a
positive way. Life can be fleeting, but a life lived to the fullest stays in fond memories. John, through his decorum and
grace, endeared himself to many.
This is a painful time for his family. In extending to them our heartfelt condolences, we wish them courage and
strength to bear this loss.
On behalf of Barry Himmelman, we leave you with these words…
It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I announce the loss of a friend
and team member. John passed away today, I know no one who loved life more.
He will be so missed by his family, and I am proud to say that Himmelman Construction is,
and always will be, a part of his family.
Please say a prayer for his family, God Speed John!!
