In 1955, Barry M. Himmelman founded the firm shortly after moving his family from Canada to California. With not much more than his skills as a craftsman, Barry M. grew the company from one-man jobs to small remodel projects and eventually to more extensive construction projects. From the early years and on the company has continued to honor the founding principles established by Barry M. of being true to the honest hard work ethic of yesteryear.
Two generations later, Barry J. Himmelman and his wife Dana brought the Construction Management / General Contracting firm to Lakewood, CO. Using more modern technology and innovations within the construction industry they more than tripled the size of the firm. Their diligent work ethic and commitment to continuing a legacy was evident and recognized by their children, Colton, Travis, and Jessica who on their own professional paths came to work their way through several roles within the firm to learn all aspects of the business.
Almost 70 years after its founding, Himmelman Construction is still based on the same basic core principals of honesty, integrity, common sense, and hard work. The fourth generation continues the legacy while focusing on their strengths with Colton Himmelman as President, Travis Himmelman as Vice President, and Jessica O’Shea as Chief Financial Officer. Together they already have more than 35 years of construction experience and a common goal to build Himmelman Construction for the next generation.
